Did you catch the NHK E-TV broadcast of Classic Ongakukan on January 11th?
As we mentioned in our previous post, the world premiere of Dai Fujikura’s latest work was a landmark event at the very forefront of contemporary music.
The NHK Symphony Orchestra’s trumpet section delivered a breathtaking performance—and we were thrilled to hear our BB Wah-wah mutes adding such a distinctive texture to that unique soundscape!
One highlight was the mute used by principal trumpet player Mr. Kikumoto: a specially crafted piccolo mute featuring an aluminum body and copper stem.
While it was designed to work subtly behind the scenes, it fulfilled its mission beautifully, leaving an unmistakable mark on the performance. Hearing that resonance for the first time through the broadcast sent a shiver down my spine—it was a proud moment for our craftsmanship.
A huge thank you to Mr. Kikumoto and the entire NHK Symphony trumpet section for such an inspiring performance and for bringing our "special item" to life!
